Household

God is continuously adding households to his Church.

The Philippines is a country with two seasons, wet and dry. The weather gets really bad when it’s wet season. Aside from typhoons, twenty or more, each year, we now experience non-stop very hard rainfalls. These cause our rivers to swell and overflow, flood streets too, landslides in several mountain areas, leaking roofs, and never ending complaints about traffic, drowning incidents, skin diseases, and even death.

Dry season is a welcome respite. This is the time of year when schools close. Families go to the beach for swimming and picnics. A lot of outdoor activities are enjoyed. At night, people go stargazing. It is also the best time to visit cold places like Baguio City, the summer capital of the Philippines, or Tagaytay City. The temperature is cold up there, and yes, we do have fog in these places. As the wet season has its cons, so does this one. People suffer from heat stroke, we don’t have enough drinking water in some places because wells dry up, crop die. We have higher electric bills because of air conditioners and electric fans, again the dreadful skin diseases caused by too much perspiration and the worst thing is people become lazy because the body gets to feel very heavy.

Well, anyway, rainy or dry season our GX comiczine continues to find its way to a lot of people’s homes because of our dedicated workers. As long as circumstances permit, they will go, two by two, to spread the word wherever God leads them. It’s not easy for a worker to walk several miles in order to reach a nipa hut on a hot summer day or to walk on a narrow flooded path to reach a small baranggay during wet days. Through the grace of our Lord, all these are being accomplished. Now, we see the excitement in the eyes of those people who have heard about the good news of salvation through GX, and join churches so they too, can worship God and thank Him for the new life they now experience. They don’t care whether it’s rainy or sunny as long as they hear more about God’s goodness and what He can do with their lives.
